Has there ever, in world history, been a country more EVIL than the United States (going back to colonial days)? “Our” “leaders” have NEVER had a conscience, it seems!

In the United States, the Military Industrial Complex puts a higher value on Weapons sales and Military conflict, than “Life” itself.

The fact that Norway has backed out of this civil war, means only one thing to our government.

A very interesting chart showing all of the major defense contractors and the contributions toward legislators in congress, showing how much has gone to both the Democrats and the Republicans. It is absolutely appalling to see the flow of money to legislators for the votes for wars, buying everything needed for these wars from rifles to bullets to bombs. What does this look like in real life? Legislators in congress getting swarmed by dozens of lobbyists with bribe money daily when bills are being passed that will boost profits for the military industrial complex.

It would not surprise me to find out that Trump has had investments in the war industry, so maintaining and creating wars will ultimately lead to Trump making profits from being president.

Norway manufacturers weapons? How about Sweden, Finland, Switzerland et al.
Are all countries in the weapon manufacturing business, shipping them all over the world? I am shocked, just shocked. Well, not really. War and weapons are very profitable business and all want a piece of it.

Not in my opinion. Given the hypocrisy of the USA prattling on and on about human rights and freedom, the USA easily wins the award for the most EVIL nation in the history of the world. And the way things are heading, the USA will be the nation to start a nuclear war to end most life on earth. Evil indeed.

While it is good that Norway is stopping its weapon sales, I can’t say I feel good about Norway selling weapons in the first place to such an immoral state as the UAE. Somehow I thought they were more evolved than that as a nation. Certainly they have been complicit in the killing all along and have plenty of blood on their hands as well. But at least they decided to stop.

Yes, yes, we get it. The u.s. sucks on multiple levels: other countries don’t deny/reject the facts of human induced climate change, have universal health care and minimum wages that cover basic living expenses and more. We could go on and on and we do.

We have a collapsing empire, a pathological intertwined (via corporations) duopoly and a main stream media that is fueling the whole mess.

Our voting system is a dysfunctional(horrid)joke that perpetuates this oligarchy. I mean really, those stupid “I voted” stickers are still handed out when you vote. That is a bad joke.

So.

What to do for those of us that can’t move to Canada, Iceland, Norway, Sweden or New Zealand? (unless we have multi millions and/or a profession that is needed)

It is like rubbing salt in the wounds to those of us stuck here to read about how much better it is in other countries when there is not much we can do (individually) to stop this massive machine of destruction that will collapse.

I can’t buy into the notion that we can change the destructive 2 party system.

Yet, I can’t just do nothing.

What to do?

Almost escaped 20 years ago------ could have left then but was guilted into “staying and fighting”.

I stayed and now here we are sinking further into collapse cloaked in fascism.

Reading articles about how much better it is in other countries does not help when you can’t get out of this quagmire and the specifics of what we can actually do to stop collapse in the u.s. do not look promising especially in light of c02 levels/ocean acidification.

For those of us stuck here: will it all come down to individual states regrouping and implementing truly progressive values and systems within the time frame left before more widespread and exponential climate chaos?

There are multiple contagious fatal diseases destroying the people in Yemen while the bombs fall. In Syria there was drought that sent the people to Assad asking for help. Life is impossible in much of the world now. The fat cats are fighting over crumbs thinking they will have something other than sick and dying sheeple or maybe that part does not matter. Who pays the massive military bill for these weapons? Are they turning them on the US in general and not just the poor areas of people of color?

Manufacturing tolerance, love, and sharing would be a nice substitute for the arms vampires. Oh, wait! Can’t do that! THAT IS SOCIALISM!!!

Given the world situation, making weapons for actual DEFENSE seems prudent to me. Making them for PROFIT and then starting more wars to run out the inventory for an excuse to make MORE is unconscionable.

Caroline, it is this mindset that is destroying our Democracy. Our failure to recognize that We are supporting liars and thieves with our votes, and have been doing so for decades, is the main ingredient in the recipe for the demise of Democracy.
