Turkish citizens head to the polls on Sunday to vote on a historic referendum that could potentially cement autocratic rule in the nation, consolidating power for President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
You have to wonder if those opposed to Erdogan will even be allowed to vote.
There seem little reason to believe the vote is either honest or not coerced one way or another. Just seems like a typical authoritarian fig leaf. Erdogan is already dictator, he just wants it signed and sealed. Doesn't really matter about any real count or real campaign.
They jig is already up in Turkey. Erdogan already is an autocrat, doesn't matter what title he has. After all, Hitler was legally no more than Chancellor of Germany and Stalin was just General Secretary of a political party ( The only party).
