With Mike Pompeo, Trump Is Heading into Dangerous Waters

Richard Silverstein

On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump fired Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and appointed the hawkish CIA chief, Mike Pompeo, to replace him.

From the link to ‘John Bolton’:

"John Bolton, former ambassador to the United Nations in the Bush administration, is one of the most radically hawkish voices in the American foreign policy conversation. He has said the United States should declare war on both North Korea and Iran. He was credibly accused of manipulating US intelligence on weapons of mass destruction prior to the Iraq war and of abusive treatment of his subordinates. He once “joked” about knocking 10 stories off the UN building in New York.

And now he seems poised to become President Donald Trump’s next national security adviser, which would have significant — and frightening — implications for the future of Trump’s foreign policy."

Looks very bad indeed - putting it all together.

Maybe the last chance for Mueller or anybody else to rid the country of this president ?

Hmm - thinking - Tillerson sent to Africa, out of the way - Netanyahu comes to Washington - several key people leave or are fired - Bolton/Pompeo/new head of the CIA - …

Upcoming peace talks with North Korea…

Looming is Mueller…

Sucker punch maybe - either North Korea or Syria ???

Syria - via Netanyahu ~

“The addition of another hawk such as John Bolton into the mix (he has been touted as a replacement for chief of staff John Kelly or McMaster, should he be fired) could send US foreign and national security careening into uncharted waters. Bolton is known for his strident anti-Muslim views.”

Bolton is a thug’s thug’s thug; an alpha predator’s predator. Remember Central America and the blood bath of regression implemented by this cabal.
From 2005:
John Bolton: Ally of Drugrunners
John Bolton is a bad penny. He keeps coming back. As I’ve written before, there are…

Letter of opposition to 2005 appointment to UN - THE WHY
The baldly contemptuous Bolton

Extremely disturbing developments! The Nightmare Scenario gets several steps closer.

I like how Kevin Drum put it:

And we are blabbing about how impure Conner Lamb is in a strong Trump district.

The extreme belligerence of Putin is for a reason.

I remember clearly, indelibly, from “The Putin Interviews” by Oliver Stone, where Putin said, regarding the hidden and secretive nature of geopolitics, that if the common man paid strict attention, and simply followed the evidence and the logic of developments, he too (the common man), could discern the way things really are.

I think that’s where we are now.

Perhaps Russia poisoned that family, perhaps not.

The only serious point is that there is absolutely no reason to believe or have faith in any government agency at the pinnacle of power, not the US, not Great Britain, not even small player Canada, not China, or North Korea, or India, then there are the failed states that our governments have produced - on several continents, for many many decades now.

Trust is gone, for me at least, and it will not be coming back any time soon, nor I suspect, in my lifetime.

Too much water under the bridge - too many betrayals.

Elections, voting, letters to politicians - a form of insanity.

Time for ground truth - actions speaking much much louder than words.

Not unlike Mein Kampf, Trump has told us his intentions, and he is doing what he said. He also said that after the Olympics - watch out.

And we are seeing this unfold day by day now.

Trump needs to start a war, fairly soon, in order to shore up support for the Commander In Chief ™ in War Time, and get everybody behind him, so that the enclosing Mueller investigation is seen as a distraction and a waste of time compared to the much larger issue of the War. If done correctly, Mueller (and everyone who supports him and the investigation) can wind up being painted as a total traitor, scrabbling about in the shadows trying to bring down the Glorious Leader who is working so hard to protect us from the evil enemies during war.

Time is running out, though, so Trump needs to get cracking. Iran, or Syria, or both, would be good places to start, as neither one possesses nuclear weapons and they would be doing Israel a solid as well. The fact that it would be illegal, and a war crime, is not important.

Exactly so dissent!

"Of all the enemies of true liberty, war is, perhaps, the most to be dreaded, because it comprises and develops the germ of every other. War is the parent of armies; from these proceed debts and taxes; and armies, and debts, and taxes are the known instruments for bringing the many under the domination of the few. In war, too, the discretionary power of the Executive is extended; its influence in dealing out offices, honors and emoluments is multiplied; and all the means of seducing the minds, are added to those of subduing the force, of the people. The same malignant aspect in republicanism may be traced in the inequality of fortunes, and the opportunities of fraud, growing out of a state of war, and in the degeneracy of manner and of morals, engendered in both. No nation can preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare.

War is in fact the true nurse of executive aggrandizement. In war, a physical force is to be created; and it is the executive will, which is to direct it. In war, the public treasuries are to be unlocked; and it is the executive hand which is to dispense them. In war, the honors and emoluments of office are to be multiplied; and it is the executive patronage under which they are to be enjoyed; and it is the executive brow they are to encircle. The strongest passions and most dangerous weaknesses of the human breast; ambition, avarice, vanity, the honorable or venal love of fame, are all in conspiracy against the desire and duty of peace".

–James Madison

It is now up to world leaders of conscience and strength, especially the other signatories of the Iran “nuclear” deal to stand-up and demand NO WAR in their names and NO rescission of the deal they are the major part of - seems unlikely given the power of the orange chimp to corrupt and threaten, but if not we all are in a world of much deeper shite!

Pompeo and the odious John Bolton are apparently chosen to make some war the goal; whether it’s Iran, Syria, or elsewhere - the Con-In-Chief has zero wisdom in his character, and zero moral compass in his soul; he is totally malleable to arguments of some other voice that has his otherwise deaf ear at any moment. The fact the also mad extremist netanyahu has that ear is a very dangerous reality and clear subversion of our sovereignty and trumps foreign policy decisions!

The political firmament is shifting under this evil incompetent regime and there is nothing that will serve to divert public attention from its utter incompetence and corruption than a war. The James Madison quote above lays out the truths of war and executive power.

In all my years there has never been as deadly a combination of ignorance, stupidity, arrogance, extremist (treasonous) war mongering, and the ability to exterminate life in such vast numbers - only a fool could think differently, and we are surrounded by such fools in great numbers in most positions of power and influence under this utterly pathological regime!

Many millions will become victims - killed and maimed - and other millions lucky to even survive this madness as there is NO strong balance or opposition to!

Where are the voices of reason and moral compass?

Take it to the bank: Connor Lamb will be a YES vote for the upcoming war with Iran.

Prediction 2: You’ll apologize for him.

The US War Machine will find, however, that Iran is not easy pickings, as just about every other “War” the US has fought since Vietnam has been. They have a large army, they have an air force, they have a navy, they have armaments and good solid defenses. NO cakewalk there. I pity the hundreds of thousands of innocent Iranian citizens that will bear the brunt of the suffering and death from a US attack. And I pity the many many American soldier deaths that will result as well - far more than from our little adventures in Afghanistan and Iraq and Desert Storm, etc. All of the US War Mongers that are responsible for it - if it does indeed occur - deserve special places in the bowels of Hell.

Thanks for the link. Wow. Here is some information about this Missile, according to one commenter:
“This missile is the very reason that we have done nothing but talk about invading Iran for the past 4 years. A US carrier in the Persian Gulf would have, at minimum, a dozen room sized holes punched into it by these babies! Iran also possesses fuel-air bombs that would turn our Iraqi and Afghanistan bases into smouldering cinders in a matter of minutes…this country is not Iraq or Afghanistan, they have a modern and very well armed military and would destroy a US carrier battle group in a matter of minutes if it entered the Persian Gulf…The sunburn travels at hypersonic speeds, and, as it approaches its target, starts shucking and jiving, up and down, and all around, just above the water surface, making the US anti-missile defenses useless…especially when there are a couple of dozen of these things approaching.”

If war is opened the conventional weapon defenses will likely be very effective leading to a nuclear response - once that cat is out of the bag there may be no way to stop a cascading series of attacks championed by people with no rational sense…read pompeo and definitely the fuckin idiot john bolton!

Yes Bolton is a thug, but we now have instead of a government that represents the people, a cabal of war criminals, war mongers, and thugs like Bolton, that are running our so-called government. So that makes Bolton the perfect fit for the crime syndicate that is a miasma in Washington deceit!

Here’s what the orange moron said as candidate, and what bolton represents and has for decades - war as an end in itself and to hell with the consequences!.

Also an excellent example of why other countries - like Iran, North Korea, Libya, etc. - want to develop strong military deterrents, that make the US think twice before attacking. Everyone knows the US only attacks weak, relatively defenseless countries, and that we won’t dare attack strong countries with strong militaries. Countries that give up their deterrents - like Ghadaffi did in Libya, when he gave up his nuclear ambitions and his chemical weapons, and wound up being murdered by the US anyway, and Saddam did when he did the same thing.
