With Trump Pushing Regime Change in Venezuela, Critics Warn News Outlets Failing US Viewers Once Again

Jon Queally, staff writer

Ahead of a speech in Miami on Monday in which President Donald Trump was expected "ramp up" pressure on Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro, progressive media critics continued their warnings that corporate news outlets like CNN, MSNBC, and others are carrying water for the White House's regime change policy in the country despite interventionist failures like the invasion of Iraq in 2002, the overthrow of the Libyan government in 2011, and the long U.S.

A huge question is whether any U.S. political will have the guts to side with democracy in Venezuela. It is difficult because anyone who criticizes the trumped up pretext to invade Venezuela and seize their oil, is quickly demonized by fellow politicians, the media and even the general public here in the U.S. One reason is that unfortunately the years of propaganda have convicted many Americans that Maduro is a dictator, cruel and undemocratic. While the well informed know this to be false, the vast majority of Americans have fallen hard for this official narrative.
All politicians who support this naked aggression must be called out on it in the next election and be removed from office. This is unlikely to happen though simply because of what I stated earlier, too many have bought into the official corporate narrative. Perhaps a massive domestic protest aimed at one clear message, might be effective. That message should read… “The U.S. government does not represent average Americans. We will try our best to get a representative government in the future, but we face the same enemies of the 99% as you do!”

In the UK, like minded politicians have gotten togehter and signed a letter (https://www.telesurenglish.net/news/80-British-Politicians-Express-Solidarity-with-Venezuela-20150212-0015.html). Our politicians (the ones that aren’t jackasses like Bill Richardson) should do the same.

As far as I know, these are the US politicians taking unequivocal stances against US meddling in Venezuela:

Tulsi Gabbard - https://freebeacon.com/national-security/gabbard-us-should-stay-out-of-venezuela-claims-us-involvement-is-about-the-oil/

Ro Khanna - https://truthout.org/video/rep-ro-khanna-speaks-out-against-us-backed-coup-in-venezuela/

Bernie Sanders (not as good a statement as the previous 2, but he still opposes US meddling) - https://www.sanders.senate.gov/newsroom/press-releases/sanders-statement-on-venezuela

Barbara Lee (still not as good as Tulsi - oh well) - https://lee.house.gov/news/press-releases/congresswoman-lees-statement-on-situation-in-venezuela

I would hope there are many more. It shouldn’t be like when Lee was all alone opposing our stupidity in Afghanistan.

Unbelievable, all the networks are spinning straight up propaganda about the Gracious, humanitarian, ethically motivated and compassionate US and their unswerving continued support of the Venezuelan people, and how the benevolent and God given Juan Guaido, the great and just and rightful one is and always has been on the side of justice and democracy and freedom and human rights.

Conveniently there is no mention of Guaido’s longstanding relationship to the CIA, the Venezuelan status as the largest oil reserve on earth, and the fate of all other Client states the US has erected.

There is no mention of the 10 years of sanctions, or the covert and deliberate undermining of the government of Maduro and the Venezuelan economy by the US, or the appointment of the CIA operative, “Butcher of Central America,” Elliot Abrams, and his blood soaked past as well as the universally atrocious record of US interventions in the region over the last 70 or 80 years.

Its as if facts were of no use at all and only the governments carefully chosen yet false excuse for illegal invasion was worth reporting, but not the fact it is plainly illegal.

Venezuela is just another country in a long, long, long litany of murdered and tortured people in the name of oil, greed, and capitalism, all in our name. If they could have gotten away with it and still secured the oil, they would have used nuclear weapons on Venezuela - in a second.

Apathetic America and its Right wing fascist, terrorist government, has all the humanitarianism and human compassion of a full out global thermonuclear war.

Space: All politicians who support this naked aggression must be called out on it in the next election and be removed from office.

It’s 250 years later and time that everyone wake up from the fakery of our Constitution which
only confirmed that we are by nature a free people and our rights cannot be enumerated as the
8th Amendment makes clear – we have unlimited human rights, restrained and regulated only
as we come to recognize and agree on the necessity for it.

But the immediate betrayals by Our Founders are not any different from what Elites/wealthy are
doing today – using government to steal from the public in an organized way. Yeah, they had
to invent Capitalism and bus e ness in order to fool the public; and they had to make good use
of right wing propaganda which still works to make all the BS sound noble. Well, it was only
being presented to 6 year olds in the main so how much challenge or questioning might they
have faced?

So that’s when it began – 1776 – and how many WARS by the US since then?
This is all nothing new – the only thing new was that FDR managed to pull off a 60-70 year
era when we were actually trying to practice democracy, justice for all, equality . . . whispered
in the wings enough to frighten the hell out of Elites.

The tools, systems and patterns of lies that hid the ugly truth of the BS of the US government
sat in the Elite toolbox to be pulled out when needed and that toolbox only needs slight
adjustment from time to time because over these thousands of years their violence has never
been challenged. And only the truly deranged would suggest challenging them and their
violence now when they control the MIC.

The original toolbox came from European Elites who worked on the tools and patterns and long
practiced and perfected them for 2000+ years using “religion” for wars.
How long have they been hidden behind the great Wizard of OZ of religion?

As pointed out in this quote –

"Doubtlessly, Europe’s leaders would have found reasons other than religion to rouse their subjects to internecine slaughter, but religion served as the most useful way to give a noble purpose to otherwise base motives of financial greed and desire for power."

Whatever theme the zionist media is pushing these days will be the story. War with Iraq? NYT pushes for war. Russia the bad guy ? NYT spreads the manure. Allende a communist who threatens ! the USA ? CIA coup is covered up. North Korea will attack the USA? Sure, very likely. Gotta beef up our trillion dollar military. 10,000 nuke warheads not enough. Our media is more dishonest than the old Tass.

I was once hired to find out if rumors of united states atrocities in central america were true. I traveled with others to the frontier of Honduras and Nicaragua. Talked with Salvadorians and Guatemalans.

I saw the empty holes where great lakes ore ships idled for winter hauled away Nicaraguan gold. I saw evidence of unmentionable crimes and felt a widow’s tears stick my shirt to my chest.

I saw grave pits full of dead baby skulls. I heard from parents of polio vaccine withheld during a polio epidemic.

Now snarling barbarian capitalist attack dogs from the united states are to be unleashed on Venezuela.

Who ever lives as human loving life on Earth will resist united states servants of the devil who occupy their government. Those creatures in the US capitol with snarling fangs barred against the innocent people of Venezuela are despicable, white, sub-human european-style colonial ghouls attacking innocent human families with brown skin.

What would the 'news outlets report if they ware not warmongering propaganda outlets?

In Venezuela every citizen has a right to vote.
Venezuela has one of the most modern vote processing and accounting system in the world.
Voting observers from other countries have monitored the process and give it high marks.
President Maduro was elected within this open system by a large majority.
The American stooge Guaido did not run for president of Venezuela.
Guaido does not hold an actual office within the Venezuela government. Instead of running for president, he asked for a boycott of the last election. When the citizens of Venezuela were asked if they knew who the ‘newly declared’ president was …80% said they never heard of Guaido.

BWTF … when did a few truths ever stand in the way of corporate news propaganda.

The illegal invasion of Iraq, the wanton slaughter for Empire…that gets summed up as “interventionist failures”???

Un clucking real. I mean, seriously?

Well, with that kind of bloody summation hard to get where the complaint is with the other news outlets on this one. After all we know about Iraq, the outright slaughter that had not a whiff of even “interventionist” rationale…and that’s how it is summed up? Wow.

These are not “failures” on the part of the news organizations. These are very deliberate acts of providing disinformation and outright lies. Months or years after the reports revealed as lies the media issues mea-culpas promising to do better in the future. This too late to do anything about how the State reacted using those lies years before.

Example Iraq. Knowingly lie about WMDS. This was not a mistake. The US Invades, destroys the Country and slaughters hundreds of thousand and of a suddent the media pretends it played no role in promoting that war.

Example Libya, with it being claimed mass slaughter being committed by Government forces and viagra being issued to soldiers so they would rape citizens. Again lies with the media correcting those lies only when the Country destroyed.

Example Syria where members of the Media from the BBC and other institutions that hyped gas attacks at Douma , now come forward to claim those attacks staged and never happened.

The illusion the media likes to create is “yes sometimes we fallible and get it wrong but we will come back later and get it right”. This is a fraud and another great lie. They knowingly tell lies until the “Mission is accomplished” and once that mission accomplished pretend another “oops”.

CNN, NBC etc quite right to push for invading Venezuela where our oil somehow got misplaced. We need a “Maine” incident to remember, or maybe an aggression by the Venezuelan navy in the Gulf of Tonkin (sorry, I met Mexico) to help rally the troops. Anyone can see by looking a Costa Rica what happens we don’t invade, no army to sell weapons to, nature protected instead of allowing our dear companies to exploit resources….

The news outlets are not “failing” those to whom they answer. As for “us,” the news media made it clear the extent to which we (do not) matter when Les Moonves uttered his infamous “bad for America, good for CBS” statement in 2016. There will not be a pause in the permanent U.S. state of war. It’s good for ratings.

Costa Rica has one of the worst sewage problems in the world.
They have problems containing diseases among the poorest agrarian populations (those that still have land to till that weren’t practically given to BigAg) and most of their reputation is based largely on surrendering their sovereignty almost completely to the US. They’re notorious “job thieves”–a haven for corporate job offshoring–and most of the financial benefits they’ve gotten from playing ball have largely been limited to the middle and upper classes that dominate the corporate playground of San Jose.

the place is a fraud.
