The second-to-last witness in the government’s case against Jeffrey Sterling, FBI Special Agent Ashley Hunt, introduced a number of things she had collected over the course of her 7.5 year investigation into James Risen’s chapter on Operation Merlin. That included a few things — most notably two lines from Risen’s credit card records from 2004 — that in no conceivable way incriminated Sterling.
Bravo Marcy Wheeler! Isn't amazing when a legitimate reporter does her homework what perfidy she can find on the part of posturing officials? Anybody who believes Eric Holder's tenure in the US AG has been anything other than an exercise in sock puppetry administration, deserves a "Jeb Bush for President" propeller beanie.
On only a slightly more positive note, EH has fulfilled MLK Jr.'s dream by being a black official easily judged as loathsome for the content of his character rather than the color of his skin.
If EH wants to build any "legacy" otherwise, he ought to find some way and the time in the next two years to put the likes of Jon Corzine, Lloyd Blankfein, and Jamie Dimon in prison and make them spend some of their mega-millions in yearly bonuses on enriching high-priced legal counsel. Call it a "legal economic stimulus package for mouthpiece lawyers".
