Poet justice would entail the entire city assembling, having painted a series of golf-spiked footprints, marching toward the Rio Grande and chanting:
“Jump Chump, Jump!”

How many more awful things have to happen under the nations current leadership before we see the people rise up? If concentration camps on the border and mass shootings don’t do it, what will?
We find ourselves in the End Game of fascism. The “new fascists” as I will call them, you know, yesterday’s old money and today’s tech billionaires, realized the mistake the 1930’s fascists made. They were impatient. They wanted it too quickly. And when it didn’t take root fast enough they attempted to establish a worldwide fascist order at the point of a gun. Starting with the Powell memo, the New Fascists plan was implemented. Powell told the wealthy that for fascism to take truly take hold, it would have to be a slow methodical march. They must take their time, slowly undercut government and social institutions. Get the people used to living without the foundation of collectivism that built the post WWII modern world.
In short, the rich had to let the masses learn to love Big Brother.
And now we find ourselves in the End Game. The oligarchy owns the media, and thus the message. Unions are non existent. Wages are stagnant, benefits have disappeared. The once mighty American middle class has borrowed itself into insolvency. The USA is now filled with poor, stressed out people that are taking record amounts of anti-depressants and anti-psychotics. Those same people are also armed to the teeth. All the oligarchy needed was one final distraction to complete their plans. That had now been achieved. They placed a “rabble” rousing moron at the head of the nation, one that has rallied the white people (or at least enough of them) to his cause. And now that the dangerous rubes have been mobilized by hate, they will start shooting up the nation, effectively distracting us from the one final push, the push to establish an unapologetic fascist republic in the USA.
And there seems to be nothing that the “rabble” is willing to do about it. Trump will do whatever he wants, say whatever he wants, and he will get away with it. You can count on it.

Your addressing a sociopath people . Save your explanations for somebody that gives a shit.
Nothing you can say to donny boy will soften his heart or make him suddenly show real concern for others , NOTHING.
Treat him like the rabid dog that he is.

I fear that, just as today’s extreme weather is nothing compared to what is in store, today’s American gun violence is nothing compared to what is in store. As far as I can see, there is no possibility of anything getting better. The hardest day is yet to come: that day when those of us who opposed capitalism, empire, the MIC, and all the violence they foster and sustain, will be forced to arm ourselves and make war against and kill our fascist enemies. The sad part is that I’m about ready.

You bring up what worries me, and should worry, every American. Now that the Fascists have a foothold they will not go without a fight. And I’m not sure that sitting around and protesting and singing cumbayah will make them magically change their minds and admit their malfeasance.
The last time fascists had a foothold in America was prior to the Civil War. Circumstances now are surprisingly similar.
I fear this will not end well because, after we rid ourselves of the fascists, we will be charged with rebuilding a nation in a world who’s weather will make it difficult, if not impossible.
I think that maybe people aren’t looking at the big picture because it’s frightening.

In essence the Ku Klux Klan has taken over the executive branch of the US government. A fact aided or ignored by the other branches of government.

Only the orange Mussolini would have the bad judgment and self-important ego rot and pathology, to use this latest hideous tragedy to inflate his bloated arrogance and lies - especially when it seems increasingly clear to millions that HIS words and policy agenda, and ugly tweets, were in many ways directly responsible for this particular murder. His politics of division, racism, and fomenting hatred of Latinos, all people of color, and others - the vulnerable - is like a cancer metastasizing thru America - hatred and division people must stand against in the strongest possible terms!

But as the neoliberals say… “it’s just not worth it”.

When will the public see that the right-wing leaders of the Democratic party are just Republicans-in-sheeps-clothing? I promise, “nothing will change”.

Please preface the thoughts with “without leadership”. I look forward to having President Sanders referee the DuNCe/RuNCe twins… so that we can see there isn’t a lick of difference in their policy. Only the rhetoric changes so that Republican Romneycare is renamed ACA. Endless war gets peace prizes. Socialism for billionaires and “pay go” for everyone else.

Your remark has me wondering about congress members attitudes
regarding inflamatory, divisive, disruptive, hate mongering speeches.

Only a few in congress have spoken publicly against the KKK el trumpo.

The KKK was infiltrated by FBI mid 1950’s thru about 1970 by agents
and hires. They often became cell leaders. Terror stopped.

Now, we have a divide and conquer failed businessman / salesman as
president. He is slinging manure.

Love that the NY Times had to change its headline –

but Trump never mentioned the NRA in his comments either –

and every site of a shooting should have a plaque or a monument which
attributes this attempt to make America one of the right wing’s “shitholes”

compliments of the GOP/National Rifle Association and the Supreme Court which
overturned more than 100 years of the 2nd Amendment being grounded in its opening
clause.

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State,

THIS is the great hoax pulled on the American public based in the right wing need to
spread violence and chaos in our societies to overturn democracy.

Yes, and I would argue that America is now in a cold Civil War.

The people in El Paso would be wise to add to the rhetoric the observation that Trump doesn’t want to go there to heal grief or challenge white supremacy. He’s going because his campaign managers have decided it would look good for him to go, and to say certain things which he is now memorizing. He has finally directly called out white supremacy–but it won’t bother his KKK following, they will just take it with a wink and a nod as something he “had to say” and likely there will be something in either his delivery or an ad lib to reinforce this idea. El Paso should not have to endure this, and if it costs the city money to host him, that is insult added to injury.

I had the same thought wings. Hey at least “A Night at the Opera” produces belly laughter rather than broken hearts.

Thanks for posting this video. Interesting corollary that the “Jewish controlled media” was demonized in 1939 and Trump’s demonizing now of " fake news".
